1. General information
Through the works of the authors who have generated them, the fundamental notions of contemporary feminist theory such as sexual difference, sex, gender and sexuality, among others, will be studied , paying attention to their philosophical genealogy and to their ethical-political implications. Thus, the general objectives of the subject are the following:
- To know the fundamental concepts of the main authors and currents of feminist theory
- To manage the vocabulary and conceptual apparatus of the different proposals
- To relate one's own experience with the proposed texts in order to promote a free reading of the changing reality.
- To promote writing as a philosophical practice
- To promote conversation as a philosophical practice
These approaches and objectives are aligned with the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) : Goal 4, 5, 10, 11, 12, 14, 16
2. Learning results
The student, in order to pass this subject, must demonstrate the following results...
Explain the main authors and currents of feminist theory.
Understand the vocabulary and conceptual apparatus of the different proposals.
Establish relationships between concepts and problems of different authors as well as between diverse feminist philosophical contexts and between these and one's own experience
Produce well-articulated philosophical writings with conceptual depth.
Present ideas clearly, know how to listen and value conversation as a source of knowledge.
3. Syllabus
1. Approaches. Feminism: diverse genealogies.
2. Virginia Woolf: the question of the common world.
3. Simone de Beauvoir: becoming a subject.
4. Sexuality as an institution and as a practice: Gayle Rubin, Adrienne Rich and Monique Wittig.
5. Carla Lonzi: the dialectic in question. The Milan Women's Bookshop: female mediation and political practice.
6. Luce Irigaray and sexual difference. Female genealogies.
7. Seminar: "Language and subjectivity: speakers of language; spoken by language".

5. Assessment system
1. FIRST CALL:
Global assessment test on the date indicated:
1. Written part:
1.1.Essay class: 55% of the grade. Elaboration of an essay agreed with the teacher.
1.seminar essay: 10% of the grade. Writing of an essay on the contents of the seminar agreed with the teacher.
2. Oral part: there are two possibilities:
2.1. Seminar and class participation and activities option:
2.1.1. Group work in the seminar: 20% of the grade. Group oral presentation. 2.1.2. In-class activities 15 % of the grade. Participation in debates and discussion groups.
2.2. Oral test: 35% of the grade. Those who choose the previous option do not have to take this test. This exercise will consist of an individual presentation of one of the texts corresponding to the seminar (to be chosen by the students)
2. SECOND CALL:
Global assessment test (on the date set in the academic calendar): identical to the previous one.

-Reflective maturity and originality of the work.
-Use of reference materials.
-Clear and orderly exposition.
